What is energy?
There are three types of resources in the TRON network: bandwidth, energy, and storage. Due to the unique network design model, storage resources are virtually unlimited.
When we transfer money on the Bitcoin and Ethereum networks, we need to pay a processing fee through BTC and ETH. When we use the TRON network, the wallet spends bandwidth, energy or TRX.
There are two common token formats in TRON, TRC-10 and TRC-20. TRC-10 tokens spend bandwidth while TRC-20 tokens spend bandwidth and energy. For example, TRX and USDT to TRON is in TRC-20 format.
For 1 transfer, 64k-130k of energy is consumed depending on network loading.
If we delve into the technical aspect, transferring funds, creating and running smart contracts consumes CPU resources. It takes time to process all these events, this consumed time in the system is calculated in microseconds. 1 microsecond = 1 energy. Thus CPU resources are paid for with energy.
How to save money on transactions
So, you need energy for transactions. Where do you get it? There are three ways:
Method 1: Spend TRX / Burn TRX
If you don't have enough energy in your wallet, TRX will be automatically burned during the transfer of funds to calculate the Bandwidth and Energy needed for the transfer. The amount of TRX you spend as commission depends on the network load. Unfortunately, the commission has been increasing recently and has been as high as 28 TRX per 1 transaction.
Method 2: Freeze TRX / Stacking TRX
You can freeze TRX on your wallet to get energy for transfers. It's worth considering that freezing tron to get energy gradually reduces efficiency. Right now you need to freeze about 11000 TRX (~1800$) to get a couple of free transfers per day. Another disadvantage of this method is that you need to hold your savings in TRX. Method 3: Rent energy in TR.ENERGY
Transaction fees can be saved by renting energy through our service. Renting energy does not require you to freeze a significant amount of TRX or burn TRX. This method can save you a lot of money!
For 1 transaction 64k-130k of energy is consumed depending on network load. Taking 1,000,000 energy rentals as an example (~15-30 trans/day), if you burn TRX directly, you would spend 210 TRX, while renting 1 million energy on the Tr.energy platform requires only 155 TRX, saving 26%
What wallets can I use to save money on transactions?
This method of saving is only suitable for use with non-custodial crypto wallets. For example: Trust wallet, Tronlink, Ledger, MetaMask, Exodus and similar ones. You will not be able to use our energy for transfers from crypto exchanges.
ATTENTION!
If you want to make a transfer from Trust wallet, besides buying enough energy, you need to have 28 TRX on your balance. This is a feature of this wallet, it checks the balance but does not use it if you have energy.
If the transfer fee on the Trust wallet sending screen says 13.49 TRX - buy 65150 energy, if it says 27.74 TRX - buy 130300 energy. Make sure that the correct amount of energy has arrived at your address and make the USDT transfer.
How quickly will I get energy?
If there is sufficient free energy, you will receive it within 5-10 seconds after payment. Especially large orders are fulfilled within 24 hours. In this case you should contact technical support. You can place an order for a certain amount of energy for 15 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours. If you need a longer period of time, use the “Auto-renew order” function. As soon as the order is paid, we send the energy to your wallet for the whole rental period or until it is completely used up on your wallet.
"Hold energy" function
The function allows you to automatically maintain a certain energy level on the wallet. The order fulfillment time is about 1 minute. You can activate the "Hold energy" feature when creating or editing an order. It is necessary to set the energy threshold on the wallet that triggers the function and specify the amount of energy to be sent. The energy rental period for such an order is 8 hours. When the function is triggered, we send a notification about it. Notifications can be disabled in the account settings.
How to change the amount of resources in an active order
If you need to increase the supplied resources - open the order, enter the desired quantity, save the changes. The system will calculate the remaining amount of time until the end of the current order and credit the required energy to the wallet.
If you need to reduce the supplied resources - open the order, enter the desired quantity, save the changes. The new value will be applied as soon as the paid period for the current order ends.
You cannot edit orders with less than 80,000 energy set for 1 day without the "Auto-renew" function
